Biography

Mike Calway-Fagen hails from Nashville, Tennessee and received a B.F.A. from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and an M.F.A. from the University of California in San Diego. He was most recently a Fellow at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, MA. He has also attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, residencies at Sculpture Space in Utica, NY and the Bemis Center for Contemporary Art in Omaha, NE among others. He has received awards from the Joan Mitchell Foundation, The Hamiltonian Fellowship, and the state of Tennessee. His work has been reviewed in publications including Art Papers and World Sculpture Magazine. He also curates and has put together exhibitions in Miami, FL; San Diego, CA; Nashville, TN; and Athens, GA. Mike has exhibited in solo and group shows at museums, galleries, and project spaces here in the states and abroad.
