Diana Shpungin will be touching on topics including ideas of empathy in artmaking, identity and how it plays a role in the production and exhibiting of work, the importance of community, and methods of career sustainability. Students should come prepared with their own concerns and questions to generate a discussion. Event will be located at the McCalla School at the corner of Tenth Street and Indiana Ave.
Diana Shpungin is a Brooklyn based multi-disciplinary artist who works in drawing, sculpture, installation, hand-drawn animation, video, and sound. Shpungin has exhibitied extensively in venues including: The Bronx Museum of Art, NY; Fieldgate Gallery, London; Futura Center for Contemporary Art, Prague; Tomio Koyama Gallery, Tokyo; Carrousel du Louvre, Paris; Marella Arte Contemporanea, Milan, and many others.
